Well, things are coming together for my movie role ๐Ÿ˜€

For anyone who’s missed it, I have a small role in an Independent movie, called Sovereign. You can view the trailer to see what it’s all about here:ย https://vimeo.com/73177658ย .

I spoke with the director earlier this week, after a bit of comedy of errors. He tired to FB message me ย but unless we’re friends, you can’t. Then he tried to call. But his number came up as “restricted” and “unknown” which I don’t answer and my voice mail usually says that I don’t accept calls from those type of numbers. I find all this out when the other producer/actor in the film, Scott Levy, sends me a DM on Twitter. And yes that is the same Scott Levy you’ve seen mentioned (frequently) on my blog and that I have a website on (http://scottlevy.flight-o-fancy.com/). Anyway, he DM’d me asking if Jack had gotten a hold of me. I’m all “No….” at which point it dawns on me about the 2 restricted/unknown calls from the night before. Ooops!!

I give Jack a call when I get home and we tentatively pick out a weekend. I just need to get my boss to okay the Monday off, which he did! Remind me to get a huge thank you something for bossman. I texted Jack when I got the okay from bossman which firmed up the dates Oct 12 & 13 for filming. I don’t know if it’s anything really but the 13th is my mom’s birthday. Makes me sad that she’s not here to share this with me :’-(

I fly out Friday night. Headed straight to the airport from work. Praying I gave myself enough time! I get off at 4 and the flight leaves at 7. Airport is only an hour away. BUT… Seattle traffic, Friday night, and all. Keep your fingers crossed for me! I think this might be one of the few times I may go more than my normal 5mph over the speed limit, LOL! I’ll be coming back Monday the 14th.

Like I said, it’s a small role but it’ll be one hell of an experience! I get to work with some great guys. Extremely excited about that! Especially Scott of whom I am a fan (blame Valerie!).

I am also hella nervous and a bit scared. I’m not an actor, obviously. I know the technical side of things some having studied production in college, ย seen some TV shows being filmed, done some production on a college news show. But that’s all the behind the camera stuff. It’s the acting part that has the most nervous. Yeah it’s only a few lines but I want to do it right. It doesn’t take a lot to throw a whole scene off. I’ve watched tons of stuff and say “Well that sucky deliver just killed that scene.” I don’t wanna be that guy/girl. Really need one of my posse with me to poke me in the ribs and tell me to breathe every once in awhile, LOL! I want to make a good impression on everyone or at least not look like a total goof. I hope after another phone call, said nerves will settle a bit. At this point, just the thought of making that phone call gives me big butterflies though. *poke*poke* “Breathe!!” ๐Ÿ˜€ That will be my mantra to myself the whole time I’m there, I have a feeling.

I have a list of things I need to get and things I need to get done in the next two weeks in between work, shuttling someone back & forth to physical therapy, and trying to get some gym time to make up for the lost week plus thanks to my disc in my back flaring up. Wardrobe is the big thing I must get. The offer was made to get things for me but I would not torture any man wit that task, LOL! Women know clothes are a fickle beast and must be tried on as even 2 pairs of pants made by the same company, in the same style, color, & size can fit differently. I went to the mall yesterday trying to find my needs. It’s basic stuff. It a basic color. Went to 4 stores… ZIP! Well, okay, I’m sure there were ones that would fit and all but I don’t want to spend a lot on the because I know it’s a one time wear deal. I need 2 sets too because I know me. I’ll only take the tags off one set and if I don’t need the other, I’ll take them back. The set I wear… who knows, maybe I’ll autograph them and sell them on eBay one day when I’m famous…. *snort* LOL! Kidding ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a few other places to try this weekend so keep your fingers crossed for me on that too.

*poke*poke* “Breath!!”

  1. I so wish I could be there with you for the shoot! If I could, I’d fly down to just hang out in the area if I could. But I know you will have a great time!

I hope you get a chance to really soak it all in and make great notes and take a few pictures to make me jealous.

And say hi to Scott from me! ๐Ÿ˜‰
