There's two parts to the Reno Convention Report.
The first one is what took place after the convention was over
<VBG>. To read that, just look down the page a bit further.
There's a bit of gushing about another X-Files actor, so I hope
you don't mind ;)
The second part is a transcript of what Mitch said when he was
on stage. I decided
to buy a tape recorder just for the conventions so I could tell
you word for word what was said. It's a fairly long transcript
which is why I put it on a separate page. I hope you enjoy them
both.
Reno, NV
September 22 - 24, 1995
The con started out great. I met a few new people and made some
new and very special friends. After the convention was over and
myself and a friend had dinner, we did a little gambling. Around
11:00pm we caught up with Mitch, Nick, and Mary A. and sat down
for a good 5+ hours and gambled and chatted with them. I think
I was the only one who left Reno with more money that I came with
<G>. I started out with $10 in quarters and by the end of
the after I played some blackjack I had $100, so I quit <G>.
I think it had something to do with the company I was in. But
let me tell y'all something, Nick Lea is nothing like Krycek.
He is extremely sweet and has a hilarious personality. When him
and Mitch get together, they're like a couple of little boys <G>.
At one point while Nick was gambling, he had lost a big bet and
leaned over on me, put his head on my shoulder, and sighed. He
looked up at me with big sad puppy-dog eyes and I about melted
in my seat <G>. He is however taken (see my con transcriptions
when they're done). He's such a cutie. I talked with him and Mitch
a fair amount in between all the blackjack. Nick said he had a
great time at the convention but was afraid they were going to
end up being more about buying things than about the show, which
is something he doesn't really like. He is very down to earth,
but a lot of fun. We were up until about 4am this morning, which
is when he lost his money. Mitch left before that, after losing
a bit too :( BTW, Saturday morning while I was having breakfast
at the hotel, I saw Mitch, his brother (Nick Pileggi), and Nick
Lea having breakfast. *Drool mode on* Nick Lea and Mitch looked
great!! Both were dressed in shorts and t-shirts and hats. Made
concentrating on eating breakfast a little difficult <G>)*Drool
mode off (sorta <G>)*. Sunday afternoon, I rode in a cab
to the airport with Mitch and his brother. And Mitch looked great
as always. He had on dark, round framed sunglasses, a long sleeve
shirt (yep, those forearms were showing <G>, jeans (yum!!!),
boots, and a hat. I think he could wear just about anything and
look good :) We talked some in the cab and at the airport. He asked
about my job and I told him a bit there and about my surgery,
which he knew nothing about. We were joined by Nick Lea and Paul
Rabwin. Mitch, Nick, and I went outside for a few and Nick asked
me some questions about the trading cards and about why Krycek
is called Ratboy. I told him it was mostly because no one could
remember how to spell Krycek <G>. He was also interested
in the NLEB (which I am gathering info on). He asked what the
NLEB said about him and I said "Ummm... well stuff like what
they wanna do to you." He replied "You mean like shoot
me?" I chuckled and said "Um, not quite..." He
got what I meant and Mitch started laughing and said "You
stud, you." He even gave me a Canadian dollar as a good luck
charm. When we said our goodbyes at the airport, I at first was
just gonna shake hands with Mitch until he said "Come 'ere
and gimme a hug" so far be it from me to say no <VBG>.
Nick gave me a hug and kiss. And I got a hug from Paul Rabwin.
They all said they enjoyed talking and spending time with me and
look forward to seeing me again. Mitch also commented that he
loves his TeX-Files t-shirt and wears it to the gym to workout
in a lot (lucky shirt <VBG;>). And people come up and talk
to him about it. Again, I just want to say how wonderful all these
people are. I hope when you get to meet them you will treat them
with the utmost respect and kindness. Because that is how they
treat us.
