Review of Knight Rider 2000

by Paula Mackey

I suppose the correctly tile should be "Review of the last half of Knight Rider 2000" seeing as I only caught the last hour of the show. Even so, I was still able to easily figure out what was going on.

Mitch naturally played the head bad guy "Tommy" in the show. Tommy was an ex-con who was sentenced to be held in a suspended animation type state as punishment for killing with a handgun. He was paroled in the year 2000 (when the story takes place) and set about to continue supplying people with banned handguns via a select group of police officers he's paid off. One of these officers and a friend of Devon Miles was shot by Tommy when she found out too much. Devon calls on Michael Knight to help track down not only the man responsible for the shooting but also for supplying the illegal handguns.

The only two redeeming features of this show were Mitch and Kitt, the car. Mitch's Bad "Guy Chic" (tm) was in prime shape for this character. As well as his sneers and smirks. The viewer could always tell when the character was mad with him ever having to utter a word. The looks on his face told it all. Although Mitch was in suits for all of the show, you could tell he had his wonderful physique when that show was filmed. His hair was darker than it is in "The X-Files" but that could have been done specifically for the show. The story line lacked quite a bit, but Mitch did an excellent job working with what he was given.

I never thought I would see a scene worse than when Krycek beat up Skinner in "Paper Clip" until I saw Mitch's character get beat up by David Hasselhoff's character, Michael Knight, in one of the last scenes of the show. I actually found myself hoping the bad guy would win.

I'd give Mitch's performance in this show 8 out of 10 and the show itself 3 out of 10 for having Mitch in it.
