Mitch's
last name is pronounced "puh-ledgy". He was born April
5, 1952 in Portland, Oregon. His father was a defense contractor,
so Mitch spent much of his youth overseas. Before getting into
acting, Mitch also worked as a defense contractor for the same
company of his father in various countries such as Turkey, Saudi
Arabia, and Iran. He returned to live in Austin, Texas in 1980
for awhile where he attended the University of Texas and did some
community theatre work such as "Jesus Christ Superstar".
Mitch frequently visits Austin. One of his favorite places is
Barton Springs, a natural spring who's water is a fairly constant
68 degress. Mitch moved to the LA area where he currently resides. He
likes to sing old rock and roll and has been playing the guitar
since he was 11. He has taken lessons to improve his technique.
He likes to read books by such authors as Anne Rice, Stephen King,
John Steinbeck, Ernest Hemmingway, Larry McMurtry, Vonnegut, and
Jack Kerouac just to name a few. Mitch is 6'2" tall and likes
to workout and rollerblade as well as lay out by his pool. Mitch
has a wonderful personality, a great sense of humor, and is very
easy to get along with. I was able to spend some time with him
after the Reno convention and he is just a doll (see the "Mitch
on the Road" page for more on the Reno con). He likes to
draw and ride horses in his free time too. Mitch is married to
Arlene, whom he met while filiming "The X-Files". She
works as Gillian Anderson's photo double. They became parents
on May 24, 1998 to thier first child Sawyer, a little girl who
weighed in at 6 pounds 12 ounces.
