Question: How do you feel the Skinner character has changed since you first Question: started "The X Files"? EA MitchP: I think he was brought in originally in opposition of EA MitchP: Mulder and Scully. EA MitchP: A roadblock to their investigaton. EA MitchP: After a short period of time, I think they realized that he would EA MitchP: be more valuable as an ally. EA MitchP: They really needed one within the organization. EA MitchP: Chris decided that that was the direction they wanted to go. EA MitchP: He was on their side, but very by the book. EA MitchP: Rules and regulations were important to him. Yet they still EA MitchP: produced and got results EA MitchP: As he said on one show, he stood on the line that Mulder EA MitchP: and Scully kept crossing. EA MitchP: He's taking a few more risks. EA MitchP: In the movie you'll know, his presence isn't dominant in the movie.. EA MitchP: well, I'm not going to say any more. EA MitchP: Without a doubt. EA MitchP: Don't worry, you'll still enjoy it. EA MitchP: I've talked to people who haven't followed the show and have EA MitchP: never seen it, and enjoyed the movie tremendously. EA MitchP: I havne't talked to one person who disliked the movie. EA MitchP: I don't want to raise expectations, but we're all excited. Question: Have you ever been a victum of Gillian's practical jokes? EA MitchP: No. Not really. EA MitchP: Mulder and Scully's without a doubt. Question: Is your character in love with Scully? EA MitchP: I think he cares about her tremendously. But, not really in love. EA MitchP: I think he cares about them and what they're doing. Question: do you plan to visit Austin in the near future? EA MitchP: I talked to a friend of mine from Austin today who asked me EA MitchP: that same question. EA MitchP: With the new baby, travel is going to be very limited. EA MitchP: Going to the local store is about it. Question: Are you consider to be on the good or bad guys side? EA MitchP: I think it depends on what you're looking for. EA MitchP: If I'm on Mulder and Scully's side, then I guess I'm on the EA MitchP: good guy's side. Question: Mitch, your character is outstanding; how much of a role did you play Question: with Skinner? EA MitchP: I just kind of gave, took the lines of dialog and things happened.. EA MitchP: What I was doing was along the lines of what they wanted. EA MitchP: And they'd let me go. EA MitchP: Especially with Kim Manners and Rob Bowman, the directors. EA MitchP: There's a shorthand between us. I know what they want. EA MitchP: Rob might say two words and I know what they want from us. Question: is krycek coming back? EA MitchP: He's still kicking, with both legs. EA MitchP: But not both arms. Question: How did you get your stat in acting? EA MitchP: I started doing theater and drama in High School. EA MitchP: I took some classes in college. Theater. EA MitchP: Many years later, I started doing COmmunity theatre in EA MitchP: Austin Texas. EA MitchP: That's when I decided that's what I wanted to do. Question: How is it different for you doing a movie instead of a TV show? EA MitchP: I got the taste for it down there, and then I wanted the full meal. EA MitchP: You get more time, there's more money spent on the project. EA MitchP: YOu get more takes. EA MitchP: I don't think our show, on TV, suffers the lack of takes or money EA MitchP: because the show on tv is very high quality, EA MitchP: but more equipment and more money on a number of things. Question: Does Skinner have the X-Files backup disks, etc? EA MitchP: That's a good question. Question: Thanks for coming to the Expos as a speaker. What to you was the most Question: surprising thing about the Expos? EA MitchP: I don't really get surprised at the expos. EA MitchP: I don't know. EA MitchP: It should be an easy question. Question: Whats the one thing that you would like to have skinners character do Question: that you know Chris Carter would never allow? EA MitchP: Smile. EA MitchP: No. EA MitchP: Because it creates.. EA MitchP: it's hard to say without telling you what happens, EA MitchP: it's only going to fuel the fire. EA MitchP: Sometimes I wonder what his purpose is, what he's doing there. EA MitchP: If people think he's pivotal, I'm very glad. EA MitchP: But i don't know how to answer that. Question: What is your favorite thing about the role you play in The X-Files? EA MitchP: Just going to work every day. EA MitchP: Being a working actor on such a quality show. EA MitchP: I've got so many friends that would love to be in the position EA MitchP: that I'm in. EA MitchP: I'm always anxious to find out what's going to happen Question: What do you do for vacations and such? EA MitchP: Our hiatus is being taken up by the craziness of this EA MitchP: newborn. EA MitchP: That's mylife now. Question: Is cancerman really Mulder's father? EA MitchP: I don't know, but I don't think so. EA MitchP: I wouldn't wish that on him. Question: How has it been since the show has become so popular, do you get hounded Question: by crazy X-Files fans? EA MitchP: Recently, to my dismay, I've started receiving fan mail EA MitchP: to my house. EA MitchP: Not that I don't want fan mail, but it's that it's my address EA MitchP: It troubles me, how they got it. EA MitchP: Rebecca Shaeffer, that got killed, that actress EA MitchP: you know.. EA MitchP: it just troubles me. EA MitchP: But normal fan situation is great. EA MitchP: That's why I go to the expos. Question: is it wierd being married to Scully's stunt double? EA MitchP: It's not weird, it's wonderful. Question: How does it feel to be one of the best looking men on TV? EA MitchP: Thank you. Question: Where did you study acting? EA MitchP: I studied with Helen Hunts father, Gordon Hunt. EA MitchP: He's a wonderful teacher. Question: Do you enjoy that Skinner is a character that isn't predictable? EA MitchP: I think it's important that all these characters be unpredictable. EA MitchP: You never know where anything is going. EA MitchP: The show also allows the viewer their own imagination. Question: How would you like to see the character of Skinner develop in the Question: coming season? EA MitchP: That's a hard question. EA MitchP: I'd leave it in the creators hands. Question: What was your favorite childhood TV show? Did you watch the Twilight Question: Zone or anything? EA MitchP: I was a huge Twilight Zone and Outer Limits fan EA MitchP: I watched all that. EA MitchP: I was overseas for a lot of my childhood. EA MitchP: I'd have to wait till I came back to the states. Question: Is Scully going to get a desk and nameplate next season? EA MitchP: Now that they're going to have a new office, that's a EA MitchP: possibility. EA MitchP: Maybe that's why they burned down the office. EA MitchP: To give her her own desk. Question: Do you have any idea what will happen to Skinners "deal" with CSM now Question: that he is back? EA MitchP: Now that Scully has recovered, I think any deals EA MitchP: are out the window. EA MitchP: It would be in CSM's best interest to steer clear of Skinner. Question: For which role did you actually auition before you got the part of Question: Skinner? EA MitchP: There were two characters, both were FBI agents EA MitchP: I don't remember which episode. EA MitchP: But two different episodes. EA MitchP: I'd like to go back and research it. Question: You've been severely hurt in some episodes, to me sometimes it looked Question: like you were dead. What is behind this. EA MitchP: I'd just like it to continue to be as good as it's been. EA MitchP: But nobody needs to be concerned about the look of the show EA MitchP: changing. EA MitchP: The movie was filmed in and around Los Angeles. Question: Has anything real ever been used in the show...Like actual events? EA MitchP: I think that a lot of episodes have been based on real episodes. EA MitchP: Augmented by the imagination of writers. EA MitchP: Recently we had the episode about chemical weapons. EA MitchP: That's in the news. Question: Do you think the X-Files will investigate Skinner's past (if there is Question: one to discover)? EA MitchP: It would be interesting if they did it more. EA MitchP: They have done it some already. Question: what was your reaction to the script/movie? EA MitchP: I didn't read it. EA MitchP: They gave me the whole script, EA MitchP: my wife read it. EA MitchP: She told me what it was about. EA MitchP: The color of the pages was read. EA MitchP: Our name was stamped on the pages. EA MitchP: If anything leaked out we'd be busted. EA MitchP: It was a while before I read it. EA MitchP: It really went from page to screen wonderfully. EA MitchP: I thought it was great.
