Joel Tobeck made his first convention appearence on Saturday, January 23rd. He was greeted with a a tremendous round of applause and hollers. The first thing I noticed was how very un-Strife-like he was. He was funny and very, very adorable. Needless to say, he impressed me even more than I already was.We found out his birthday is June 2, 1971. He plays in the band The Wide Lapels with co-star Kevin (Ares) Smith. They do mainly cover songs so they have no CDs released due to copyrights. An audience member ask him to sing but he said no one would want to hear him. I don't know about that, though <g>. After signing autographs until 11:00pm Saturday night, he returned Sunday to sign more and pose for pictures with the fans. I eagerly jumped at the chance! I hope I said thank you to him for being such agood sport about everything, including the T-shirt I gave him. Hopefully Ryan will enjoy his as well <g>. I don't know what else to say about him except that I think he's totally awesome! I am keeping my fingers cross he can make it to another con soon and that I can get my hands on some of his other work from New Zealand. Below are some pictures from the con.
